The "pink" gabardine service shirt was a standard officer quality garment used by Army and Air Corps NCO. The garment was made of wool serge cloth. They features a structured collar, front placket and OD color buttons. They are 'form fitted' , so the cut has that flattering tapered-to-the-waist appearance.
100% Gabardine
Like the officer service jackets, the shirt was usually ordered from private tailors and department stores. There were several manufacturers in the US that made 'Regulation' Army Officers' shirts - Jackson Raymond Co Inc, was one of the best. They called it, the 'Rangoon' shirt. |
